FORMULA 1 GRANDE PRÊMIO DO BRASIL 2013 - 24th November 2013

Brazilian GP

The first Brazilian Grand Prix to be officially run as part of the Formula 1 World Championship took place in 1973 at the original Interlagos circuit; an extended version of the current layout which covered a lengthy 8km stretch of the São Paulo hills. Aside from temporary relocations to Rio in 1978, and then again to the same venue between 1981-1989, Interlagos has played host to every Brazilian Grand Prix.

Named after local boy Jose Carlos Pace – who took his one and only Formula 1 victory at the circuit before tragically losing his life in an aeroplane accident – the twists, turns and undulations of this 4.309km ribbon of tarmac frequently conjure up spectacular racing in often unpredictable conditions; adding to what is already considered one of the most exciting challenges on the calendar.

Standing as the traditional season finale for many years, a great number of Formula 1 World Championships have been won and lost at this historic venue; many following what can only be described as epic duels to the flag. Hometown heroes including Jose Carlos Pace, Emerson Fittipaldi, Nelson Piquet, Ayrton Senna and Felipe Massa have all shone through to take race victory in front of their wildly passionate followers, who never fail to put on a show.

What will the final race of what has been an enthralling 2012 Formula 1 World Championship have in store for Kimi and Romain? We can’t wait to find out…
